De Vlei Country Inn Nestled at the foot of the Matroosberg mountain, the highest peak in the Cape's mountain range, in the heart of the Hex River Valley. De Vlei is an historic 1859 Cape Dutch homestead, surrounded by vineyards and just 5km from the N1. Comfortable deluxe 3 star accommodation is offered in five charming, en-suite rondavels furnished with typical cape furniture.

One of South Africa's scenic treasures, a mere 90 minute drive from Cape Town. situated on the N1, the Hex River Valley is the main link between Cape Town and the hinterland. This valley has the longest harvest season in the world, which is from December through to the end of April, and are also the biggest producers of table grapes in South Africa. Our spectacular "Autumn splendour " from mid May to mid June is a must. The valley is turned into a patchwork of colours, snow-peaked mountain and deep blue skies, a photographer and painters paradise.

Accommodation

De Vlei Country Inn’s accommodation comprises five deluxe cottages in a beautiful lush garden with shady trees. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and private entrances, patio table and chairs, tea / coffee trays, hair dryer, heated towel rails and underfloor heating. Fans for those hot summer nights and heaters for the winter. Smoking permitted, outside only.
